Catholic Links for Researching Catholic Colleges

The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College:  The Newman Guide recommends Catholic colleges and universities because of their commitment to a faithful Catholic education.   All the institutions recommended in the Guide are unique, each with its own special charism, approach to education, and campus culture.

Best Catholic Colleges:  Find contact information, majors availability, and diploma selection, as well as nationwide, regional, and state rankings, campus safety ratings, and list of local competitors for 253 Catholic colleges.  This site uses what may be regarded as a secular ranking methodology as it does not appear to take into account the college's adherence to the magesterium of the Catholic Church.  Some of the colleges, even some of the more highly ranked, may be criticized for their lack of commitment to a faithful Catholic education.  Nevertheless, this site may be a helpful tool in researching Catholic colleges.  St. Ignatius Loyola Parish urges that prospective college students take into careful account all of their educational goals when choosing a college or university.

Teen Talk

If you're a teen, you've probably wondered at times how Catholicism can work for you. Maybe you have concerns or questions about specific teachings and practices of the Church but aren't sure who to ask. (Did you try asking your Dad or Mom?!?) Perhaps you are just curious about things and would like to know what other teens are thinking and talking about regarding the Church. They no doubt have issues, concerns, and pressures to deal with that are very similar to yours.

  • Faith Teen. Up-to-date topics for Catholic teens. Sponsored by the Diocese of Lansing, Michigan. Teens, their parents, and all adults in fact can learn from this site.
  • Life Teen. No-kidding Catholic discussions on everything you want to know about, including articles on papacy, vocations, "Bible Geek," drinking, right to life, sex and pornography and how to stay in God's grace.
  • "Realfaith TV" is a Catholic teen TV show created by teens, produced by teens, and performed by teens. The teen hosts, their studio guests, and the "teens-on-the-street" interviews deal openly and frankly with key issues facing teenagers. The objective is to show how faith helps in their daily lives. The TV show is sponsored by the Diocese of Trenton, New Jersey. That accounts for the Atlantic coast flavor to some of the scenes in the show. Background information about the show and its origin is available on the website for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, USCCB. Click on "Streaming Video," scroll down to "Real Teens Tackle the Issues on Realfaith TV" dated 10/2/2002, and click on RealPlayer or Windows Media depending on which software you have on your computer.
